Whois Lookup
Whois is a query or response protocol based on TCP which is very commonly used for querying a database so as to determine the domain name's owner, an IP address or even an autonomous system number over the internet.
The Whois lookups have been made traditionally with the use of command line interface, however there a many different simplified web-based tools are now launched so as to look up the ownership of the domain details from the various different databases. The Whois clients still rely on the protocols of Whois to connect to the Whois server itself and perform the task of lookups, the command-line Whois clients are still widely used by the system administrators.
The system of Whois lookups is a method used by the system administrators so that they can look into the information so as to contact the other IP addresses or even the domain name administrators; it is actually almost like the white pages directory lookup.
The Whois lookup tool is very useful for other searches as well along with the whois records , the domain names using the partial words in the domain search, or even the partial words used to search on active domain names. The other uses for the whois lookup are the IP address searching, invention of a new domain with the domain suggestions, and also the searching of the domains for the sales purposes.
